Just a long time traveller here

This year, I signed a lease of 3 years in a city that has been a base for me in the past 6 years. I had good reasons to stay for a bit longer, but I am pretty sure I will move again, to where I don’t really know yet, but I will leave for sure.

With this type of mindset I find myself slowly becoming a traveller here, something's happening in town? Sure let's not miss that, won't be here for long after all; People or situations that drain me? I’m done tolerating them, I handle everything in whatever way feels the healthiest for myself.; A relationship that probably won’t go anywhere long-term? Well, life is unpredictable, so why not just enjoy the moment while it lasts.

I wrote these as my self intro on Couchsurfing:

I joke that I travel to find my next “home base”, and somehow I find traveling to places where nobody knows me helps to understand myself better. And seeing different places & ways of living life reminds me of what I’ll like / dislike about places I live in, and slowly get a clearer idea of what type of life I want to build for myself.
—— that's pretty much why I travel!

It feels so good to be a traveller honestly, and at some point I realized: Hey, aren't we all just long time travelers on this planet?
